Evaluation and identifcation of the problems associated with salinization, sodifcation and water- logging of the soil resources; Reclamation, management and protection of lands with salinity problems; Management and utilization of poor quality surface and ground
water resources for agricultural productions; Implementation of research in determining the most suitable methods of crop production
under saline, saline-alkali and sodic soil conditions and Evaluation of salinity tolerant varieties are the research areas of the Center.
Mandates and objectives of the Center also are:
- Packaging the best crop management practices under saline conditions
- Testing and introducing options for optimum utilization of non-conventional water resources in agriculture
- Economical using hyper saline soil and water resources in haloculture systems considering environmental concerns
- Determining crop salt tolerance
