Research Greenhouse
National Salinity Research Center has a greenhouse with an area of 1000 m2 of which 250 m2 is devoted for lysimetric studies. The latter has made up in an advanced level in which controlling of soil salinity at different depths is possible and may also be used for crop water requirement studies.A
Sadooq Salinity Research Farm
A four-hectare salinity research farm which has access to two sources of irrigation water with the salinity of 2 and 14 dS/m has been recently established 20 km away from the center. This farm is allocated to salinity research on field crops.A
Chah-Afzal Salinity Research Station
Chah-Afzal salinity Research Station is located in 90 km away from the north-west of Yazd city. This station has an area of 12 hectares and a deep well with a discharge of 20 liters per second. Chah-Afzal Salinity Research Station is placed in the vicinity of farmers Pistachio orchards to be used for research on Pistachios. This station is a unique site for different research activities on halophytes because of some potentials including ample amount of highly saline water, different harsh environmental stresses, proximity to NSRC, and experienced, keen and eager farmers. Potential halophytic researches and activities are classified as Seed reproduction of different types of halophytes, ecological studies, soil and agronomy related studies, forestry and reforestation studies, water related studies, plant adaptability studies, biodrainage studies, forage production and so on.A
